METALAST Process Control System Rental Program

July 19, 2000

METALAST, the leading innovator in technology, research, and process support to the aluminum anodizing industry, announces the inception of the METALAST Process Control System (MPCS) Rental Program.

For a flat monthly fee, the new MPCS Rental Program offers the user a process control system with pre-programmed alloy specific recipes, software upgrades, continuous on-line support, maintenance and repair (if not by misuse) as well as free system replacement of obsolete systems. Technical support and custom program development are also offered on a fee basis.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Provides automated, current density anodizing.
  • Meets or exceeds all major anodizing specifications, including MIL-A-8625F
  • Meets or exceeds anodizing specifications and approvals disallowing the use of any anodizing additives (e.g., Boeing, Applied Materials).
  • Provides superior oxide performance through research supported recipes.
  • Provides improved consistency and uniformity of oxide
  • Provides improved handling of difficult to anodize alloys.
  • Provides superior quality and process verification to both the anodizer and end user.

The MPCS Monthly Rental Program allows job shops to rent the METALAST Process Control computer only for a flat monthly fee. Users under the new, no royalty, MPCS Rental Program will not be METALAST Licensee's. They are also not required to use the METALAST additive, although they can purchase it if they choose.

The availability of the MPCS under the new rental program, without requiring the METALAST additive, is creating considerable interest and activity among companies involved in metal finishing both domestic and abroad. Users can now receive the benefits of using a process control computer, mainly a more uniform, consistent and verifiable aluminum oxide.

The core METALAST business strategy will continue to focus on building METALAST-PLASFAB anodizing lines, licensing captive facilities, selling the AA-100 additive, and strengthening their manufacturing sample program. Now, however, a job shop can realize the benefits of process control, process automation, and process verification without having to enter into a long-term agreement.

METALAST International, Inc. offers a complete technology for use in the anodizing of aluminum products. Anodizing services are available through the growing national network of METALAST licensed job shops and to captive manufacturing facilities.
