METALAST Technology Outperforms Mil-Spec by 300% |
| METALAST, the leading innovator in technology, research, and process support to the aluminum anodizing industry, has been comparing their MLT-III Technology (hard coat) to the industry standard for anodizing, Mil-A-8625F. Mil-Spec 8625F requires oxide variations in hard coat anodizing not to exceed +/- 20%. The previous Mil-Spec for hard coat anodizing, 8625E, required oxide variations not to exceed +/- 10%. Mil-Spec reviewed 8625E, and decided to create the less stringent 8625F in hopes that more production and reproducibility, with less refused product, would be the end result.
The METALAST Technology, known for its reproducibility and consistency through anodizing process control, was compared with Mil-Spec 8625F. Efforts of the R&D group discovered that MLT-III can produce consistent oxide variations in the +/- 5% range, a 300% increase over the current industry standard. METALAST International, Inc. offers a complete technology to the aluminum anodizing industry through a growing national network of METALAST licensed job shops and captive manufacturing facilities. The technology includes: advanced chemistry, computer process control, research and development, education, training and technical support services. The METALAST Tech Center is the worlds only research facility dedicated to aluminum anodizing and is located in Minden, Nevada near Reno/Lake Tahoe.
