Technical Research Team
|
Mission: To develop the research and development (R&D) program for the company, including administration, methodologies, procedures, material and supplies; to recommend the direction and priorities of R&D, consistent with the needs of licensees and manufacturers; to implement the approved R&D programs, according to established priorities; to assist and support the activities of the Sales and Manufacturer Teams; to coordinate with the Technical Support and Engineering Teams on all anodizing related research activities.

| Harish Bhatt - Vice President Technical Support and Industry Relations
Internationally respected and former Senior Technical Specialist for Visteon Automotive and Ford Motor Company for sixteen (16) years, Harish Bhatt accepted the position of Vice President, Technology for METALAST International, Inc. Harish has over 30 years in the metal finishing industry and is considered by many, to be one of the top chemical engineering and metal finishing related professionals in the automotive industry. His name is known in automotive circles and also in the aerospace, defense, electronics, sporting goods, consumer products, architectural and marine industries.
Harish served as an active member of SOC (Substance of Concern) committee for US CAR (United States Council of Automotive Research), which was founded by Ford, General Motors and Chrysler as the auto industries leading technology and environmental association consisting of 33 of the top automotive companies in the United States. Additionally, for over fifteen (15) years, he has been the speaker at various technical conferences around the world including the SAE (Society for Automotive Engineers), AESF (American Electroplating and Surface Finishing Society), NAMF (National Association of Metal Finishers), MFSA (Metal Finishing Suppliers’ Association) and the AAC (Aluminum Anodizing Council).
As Vice President of Technology for METALAST, Harish will direct and manage all metal finishing and technical support related operations, including; research and development, training and education, new and existing product/technology validation.

| Dr. Alp Manavbasi - Vice President Technology
Alp has a prior training and professional experience in materials research and mainly focused on the metallurgical analysis of corrosion resistant alloys, powder metal, electroceramic synthesis/characterization and experience with Design of Experiments. As an engineer with interdisciplinary background and research experience, Alp will perform research on coating and surface treatment of alloys, testing, characterization, and have a technical role in the continuous improvement activities at METALAST.
He holds a BS and an MS degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has several publications and presentations at materials research conferences and he is a current member of MRS

| Keith Johnson - Anodizing Technician
Keith comes to METALAST from Pioneer Metal Finishing, one of the country's largest and most successful metal finishing companies. Keith worked at Pioneer for a combined 25 years, first as a Finishing Tech/Sales/Supervisor, and then as a Production Manager. Keith also has experience in the Aerospace industry, spending 4 years at Ball Aerospace. Keith has designed and implemented scheduling systems for processing, written process programs for anodizing and hard coat jobs, and supervised line operations over the past thirty (30) years. Keith has hands-on experience in anodizing of both aluminum and magnesium alloys. Keith's experience in the anodizing industry will help complement the METALAST Tech Support Team.

| Syam S. Nibhanupudi Research Scientist
Syam has a Masters in Metallurgical engineering from University of Nevada Reno and a Bachelors in Mechanical engineering with specialization in Industrial Production from K.L.C.E., India. He has previous research experience working on dendritic solidification experiments funded by NASA and NSF, Aluminum anodizing and Carbon Nanotube influenced adhesion studies. His role at Metalast is to provide technical support, as well as contribute to the enhancement of Metalast Product and Process control, research and development.
