Overview:

METALAST TCP-HF Seal is a specialty chemical, anodizing seal that is an environmentally friendly and superior alternative to other metal finishing seals such as nickel acetate seals, chromic acid seals, nickel fluoride, hot water seals and other high temperature sealants. 

Background:

As a result of metal finishing industry directives, The Department of Defense, United States Navy (NAVAIR) originally developed, tested and patented a true alternative chromate conversion specialty chemical product, named “TCP”.  This environmentally friendly and superior chromate conversion product was then licensed to METALAST to manufacture, market, sell and distribute its branded METALAST TCP-HF to the metal finishing industry.

Since acquiring the rights, additional product testing has proved that METALAST TCP-HF specialty chemical anodizing seal is much more versatility than just a chromate conversion chemical.  Many tests over the years have documented that the product is also a superior and cost savings alternative anodizing seal to nickel acetate seals, chromic acid, phosphoric acid, hot water, high temperature sealants and other conventional metal finishing seals.

Now available exclusively through METALAST and its partner Chemetall Oakite, METALAST TCP-HF Seal specialty chemical anodizing seal is available to the metal finishing industry as the environmentally friendly and superior metal finishing seal of choice.

Product Advantages: 

METALAST TCP-HF Seal provides many superior anodizing seal performance and product advantages over other metal finishing seals, such as nickel acetate seals and other high temperature sealants.

To start, the METALAST TCP-HF Seal is operated at room temperature and at lower concentration levels than conventional metal finishing seals.The METALAST TCP-HF Seal works with only a 5-minute immersion time.  Typically nickel acetate seals and high temperature sealants require a 20-30 minute immersion time.

METALAST TCP-HF Seal is also very versatile, meeting the requirements of all metal finishing seal processes, allowing for all types of material and work to be run out of the same anodizing seal tank.

Finally, as a completely environmentally friendly specialty chemical anodizing seal, no fume scrubber or ventilation is required when operating with METALAST TCP-HF Seal, which leads to additional operational heating and energy savings.

METALAST TCP-HF Seal also exceeds the following corrosion specifications:

• Mil Spec 8625F for Type I, IB, IC II, II B- 336 hours
• AAMA 611-98 for Class II (.4 mil)- 1,000 hours
• Class III- 3,000 hours
